Often overlooked in favour of the full size courses but a very important and well crafted course just 5 minutes from Puerto de la Cruz in the north of Tenerife. A chance to enjoy the slightly different charms of this area, greener, lusher and not quite as hot. The scenery is still wonderful and you are very near to the wine growing areas and natural pine forests. Mount Teide looks resplendent from here and the course reflects the richer surroundings, with much more cover from trees and shrubs.
The clubhouse here is much more modest and does not include restaurant facillities but a friendly cafe/bar will make sure you are refreshed after a game. Nearby Puerto de la Cruz has a fine range of restaurants and you can discover some wonderful small restaurants in the surrounding villages, serving large portions of locally produced food for very low prices, and don’t forget the local wine.
There is a heavy emphasis here on training and practice and the club school offers full tuition for all levels in several languages. You will also find a practice range with bunkers, chipping and driving greens and a choice of real or artificial grass to putt on.
Like all the other courses on the island, prices are split between summer, May to September inclusive and the winter season. The rates are very reasonable though at just 20 euros for 18 holes (2 rounds) in the summer or 10 euros for 9 holes, they even have discount rates for advance season tickets. Check prices in advance with the club as the website isn’t updated very often.
