A little out on a limb on the north west corner of Tenerife but well worth the effort for the incredible views and the setting against the Teno mountain range. Opened 4 years ago, this course was designed by Sevriano Ballesteros and he has struck a winning balance between man made tests of skill and the natural contours of the rugged landscape.

Beside the excellent course, there is a putting green and a driving range. Off course there is a popular club house and a high class restaurant which looks out over the cliffs and onto the Atlantic.

Looking after their environment is almost as competitive between Tenerife Golf courses these days as the actual playing. Buenavista is in a unique position to display many species of flowers and plants and the walkways on and around the course are maintained in keeping with the style of the area to make it a very pleasant place to play. No wonder they won the 2006 Madera Verde award for environmentally responsible businesses.

The Seve Ballesteros golf school will pass on useful tips from the master and help to improve your game, prices vary from starters (4 hours) to a advanced (10 hours) licence course. Starters pay 75€ for individual tuition but that drops to 35€ if 4 people are in a group. The advanced rates are 270€ for individuals, 200€ for 2 and 175€ for 3.

Course prices depend on high season October to April or low season for the summer months. High season will cost 84€ for 18 holes or 47€ for 9, under 16’s ger reduced rates of 50€ and 30€

Moving into the summer low season, costs are 54€ for 18 and 35€ for 9 with the young players chipping in at 30€ and 20€. Buggies can be hired at a price of 36€ or 23€ depending on the season.
